Once you are in the Bixby House you will be taken back to the early years of Wyalusing.  You will see  a large arrow head collection, vintage tools, keep sakes, a doll collection, memorabilia from the Wyalusing Schools, Civil War and World War II collection, vintage wedding dresses, a library and many photos.

 

In the Barn you will find a Hook and Ladder fire truck and leather buckets from The Audux Hook and Ladder Company one of three fire companies in the 1800’s.. You will also find vintage farm tools, some used right here on the museum grounds.  There is also a large scale model of the old Welles Mill (destroyed by fire) which has been family owned by the Welles family since 1820.

 

In the Carriage House you will find two horse drawn carriages, one used on the farm the other owned by the Wyalusing Valley Fire Company.  Also there is two horse drawn sleighs on display and even more vintage farm tools.

NEW FOR 2007!!!!

This season the museum will unveil three new exhibits: a Post Office display introducing a refurbished wooden post office stand and sign that once stood in Wyalusing's post office, a list of postmasters, genuine letters with the first air mail stamps, as well as pictures of the first airmail flight to Wyalusing. Our second display titled "The Wyalusing Opera House" will include genuine seats from the original opera house, hand bills, and articles highlighting famous actors, performers, and dancers that visited the opera house. Last, is our Train exhibit featuring an old travel trunk and suitcases used in the early 1900s, a sign from Wyalusing's Train Station, black diamond passenger train information, a train schedule and tickets.
